Looking presentable to others is important for most people. This is why a lot of people strive hard to lose weight and achieve their weight goal. Nonetheless, did you know that losing weight is not always good news for some? Not all weight loss experienced by people is considered a good health sign. There are some people who experience weight loss because of underlying health conditions. Abnormal weight loss alone does not indicate a specific disease rather it can be indicative of many other possible diseases. A person may notice this abnormal change through self-observation or through the observation noticed by others. The wasting becomes abnormal when it happens involuntarily and without any efforts seen by the person to lose weight.
There can be many causes why abnormal weight loss occurs to a person, and these causes include, chronic or long term conditions like tuberculosis (TB), diseases that involve malabsorption, cancer, ingestion of illegal drugs, overdose ingestion of OTC medications, personality disorders, acute and systemic infections, and a lot more. When this abnormal wasting happens, do not hesitate to seek medical attention from professional physicians before the underlying condition can worsen and bring other complications. Early detection of disease can help stop its progression.
